My lasting Memory of World War II is鈥y friend and I were sitting on the kerb and the sirens went but it was a false alarm. When I was 11 years old I went up Bridge Street Pendbury on the Friday night to my Uncles and on the Saturday my sister got married. Saturday night the bombs dropped on Bridge Street, killing people. My uncle was bombed out and my brother should have been evacuated to Canada but a ship went down and he didn鈥檛 go.
