War Memories. Myrtle Tabel

A very happy memory is one of going in a horse and cart out into the country parishes to sing with the Mission Band. This was a combined choir of Methodists and Salvationists who used to go and sing in some of the country churches. The Salvation Army was forbidden to function by the Germans so joined with the Methodists during the war. My parents being Salvationists joined in these outings with enthusiasm and they were certainly enjoyed by the children. I remember we always had a "picnic" after the service.
