My Father (RSL) was embodied as a TA Chaplain in 1939. He subsequently went to the Middle East and served in N. Africa as a Chaplain.

He was captured at Tobruk in N. Africa and spent the rest of the war in Pow Camps in Italy and Germany.

In 1945 he was liberated by the American Army and eventually returned to St Andrews. I can still remember my excitement on his return with such unknown delights in chewing gum!

My grandson, Stuart Munro, now lives in Chatton in Northumberland.
