My mother died 3 days after my 16th birthday, and it upset me that much.

There was Thorndick St, it was bombed. My mother thought it was going to hit us, we were in Paxton Street. We were saved. I can鈥檛 remember how many, but there was people killed in the air-raid not far from us. It was a terrible time.
