RAF Form 656 for Commer artic RAF 13122 for the month of July 1942
Some things never change - forms, forms, forms!
It was a daily routine for drivers in the forces to fill in forms. In the RAF it was Form 656. Daily information required was:
- Speedometer reading at daily inspection
- Mileage or hours run
- Issues: Petrol, Engine oil, Other oil
- And a signature for each line
The entry for 1st July 1942 shows a journey of 104 miles, 13 gallons of petrol and 7 pints of engine oil.
Over the month, The Commer artic RAF 13122 (dubbed the QM) covered 3,338 miles at 9.173 miles per gallon
