continued from my Land Army days,we as a team worked mostly in the fields, acres and acres of potatoes, sugar beet, brussel sprouts, onions, setting and picking as the seasons dictated,"stooking" corn, following the thresher, mostly working with horses, out in all weathers,we weren't far from air force bases and the sea,we were in the middle of any action that took place, which happened mostly in the hours of darkness,i have never done any ploughing but i have "harrowed" and "rolled" acres of fertile land, again with only the horses for company, hard on the feet!! i sit back now in my dotage and wonder"how did we do it"? i am just pleased i did,i wore my uniform with pride.
