On the day war finished it was arranged that regulars at the Lyndale School of Dancing would meet to celebrate. I got there at about 7pm, paid my entrance fee and went into the hall. This was nearly full of girls but very few men. Knowing where they were likely to be, in the Cross Keys in Eccles, I joined them and whilst a riotous time was had, we got back to the dance without any damage to persons or property.
