From mid December 1942 to mid July 1944, as a boy between seven and nine, I was a prisoner in the women/children camp
Baros-I in Southern Tjimahi (now Cimahi).
At the request of my children I am trying to put my camp history on paper. I still remember many things from that camp and could share these memories with other internees of Baros-I.

Hardly anything was publicised concerning this camp. It is therefore that I like to exchance facts and impressions of Baros-I
with those who were in this camp.

Greetings and best regards, oebiwal

Hi,
My grandfather died in Tjimahi, and there is very little written in English about this camp, so hard to find information. He was a Dutch civilian, an accountant working on the sugar plantation "Poendoeng". I wonder if you have any information about him?
I have been to the Dutch war cemetery at Tjimahi (now called Cimahi) several times - it's truly beautfiul, and Bandung, the nearest city, is one of my favourite places. I hope to hear from you.
Kind regards, Michele53.
