WINGS FOR VICTORY

The Luftwaffe used to reign supreme
They bombed our country night and day
Conquest by air was Hitler鈥檚 dream
It almost seemed he鈥檇 have his way.

Our homes were shattered day and night
The people slaughtered, young and old
And Hitler laughed at Britain鈥檚 plight
As his pilots tales of conquest told.

Our fighters spoiled his murderous scheme
Although outnumbered ten to one
They made a nightmare of his dream
And got the Luftwaffe on the run.

Now things have changed by leap and bound
The outlook changed from dark to fair
The tables turned completely round
The United Nations rule the air.

They fly by day, they fly by night
Their duty is to bomb the Hun
And Hitler, trembling at our might
Now thinks that bombing鈥檚 not such fun.

And hour by hour the bombs will fall
Until Hitler grovels, begs for peace
And not till he surrenders all
Will Germany鈥檚 pain and misery cease.
