As a 15 year old building apprentice with a firm in Longsight opposite the Astoria Ballroom. The resident band was Tony Stuart and on VE Night the band played from the back of a float convoy. With pals we walked from Odsall to join in the celebrations. Being with thousands of wonderfully happy people
