It wassept /oct 1939 and it was decided that to protect I would say Whitehall a heavy anti aircraft gun would be mounted on the top of Primrose Hill
So a naval gun of 4 point seven bore was delivered. The Royal Artillery said we cant get it to the top ,so they calledv EVEN COOK and they did the job
And as the normal anti aircraft gun was 3 poin7 the diference was clear to see.
being right uder this gun was catestopic the flash lasted for several seconds and I would sa that nothing could live for at least 10 miles over radias over london .I used to sleep on the sixth floor of the barracks while all this was going on and i felt safe . with the docks burning and primrose firing its 4.7 I fet safe and I sat on the veranda on top floor I readind a newspaper by the bright sky .
