Joined TA April 1939 went to annual camp at Corfe Castle in june and did not come back as war started .Iwas then 17 yeard old and was first a spud basher then a linesman clmbing poles and running the old Dmark 5 wire which was copper wire surrounded wit tensile steel wire , then I became a wireless operator an then I became a radio mechanic and then I became an NCO this takes me up tu dec 1940 .
