I remember coming back from a wedding in Wolverhampton on the bus to Oldbury. I was very young but I remember well that we could see Birmingham alight from bombing. I also remember that there were no light s on the bus. My father was an ARP warden.

(This story was collected at the Severn Valley Railway 1940s weekend and submitted to the People's War site by a volunteer from Wyre Forest Volunteer Bureau on behalf of Clifford Wood and has been added to this site with his permission. Mr Wood fully understands the site's terms and conditions.)
