Entertaining Prisoners of War
Ella Henderson
I remember the Italian and the German prisoners working on the farm at West Kyloe. We used to get wrong for going beside them. Dad invited two or three german prisoners to our house for tea some Sundays - I think they were stationed near Beal. One of them had a swastika under his lapel on his jacket.
We used to get a lift in their van to school sometimes if the guard let us.
They made a lot of toys and things - I remember rings made out of plastic or perspex.
