Welcome to the personal page of Northumberland County Library Service. We are supporting the People's War Project and hope to encourage people living in Northumberland to visit their local library and contribute to the site with their own memories of World War Two, either by using our personal page or by setting up their own page.
This is an ongoing project and free public Internet access is available in all 35 libraries in Northumberland for anyone wanting to add their own or family story.
2004
During 2004 we held a number of events in partnership with Age Concern, Northumberland, the 大象传媒 and the Royal British Legion to commemorate the 60th anniversary of D Day and have recorded a number of stories that were told by the people who attended. These stories have been recorded onto this site.
2005
This year we held an event on 30th June to mark the end of World War Two.
The programme featured a talk by Royal British Legion Veteran, Bill Ness and a presentation by Margaret Weaver "Any Volunteers". The 大象传媒 People's War website was be shown at this event and everyone who attended was be given the opportunity to add their own or family war time memories to the site.
