I was going to the local cinema with my brother and we were walking down Olive Road to the Lido and we could hear this terrific noise. It was really terrific, we couldn't think what it was.

Suddenly, only just above the chimneys were these great bombers and we saw red things coming across the road, they looked red hot. I said "Oh, what are those red things coming out the back?" and this man said "Oh, they're tracer bullets!" We flew across the road, straight into some poor woman's house.

Message 1 - tracer bullets in hove

Posted on: 08 September 2004 by stjohnscentre

my father and I were in an Andersen shelter my father built in our garden and we heard this noise, as you said, and we both went outside to see what it was. `THERE WAS A PLANE IN THE SKY and it started to fire these red thigs and I didn't know what it was. My father said "they're tracer bullets - get back into the shelter silly blighter!".

I hated being in the shelter so was only too pleased when I could get out.
