I recall Evan Cook the removal firm in Peckham, used to recover German Aircraft and often had a plane on view at it's works pending it's removal to the designated recovery unit.
I saw one such aeroplane on it's trailer and in it's oil soaked botom were the metalic strips which both sides dropped to confuse the radar detection systems, the difference being where as our strips were all metal foil, these German types were on paper strips, metallic on one side only.
No doubt an economical version to conserve
materials.
Evan Cook was often mentioned in the threatening broadcasts of Lord Haw Haw which were only threats.
