My mother and I were in the garden one day when we heard the horrible sound of a doodlebug approaching. We watched it get nearer and nearer and when it was directly above us the engines cut. I swore loudly, the first time in front of my mother. Fortunately for us the doodlebug did not fall straight downwards so we were not in danger.
