As part of our commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the ending of the Second World War we are running a number of activities in school, including training students as story gatherers to interview people who have memories of the Second World War. We aim to develop a record of different peoples experiences of the war for pupils to use in school in future years. We are holding a Veterans鈥 Tea Party on 10th June from 1.30-3pm. Anyone interested in attending can obtain an invitation from the school.

We are taking part in the 鈥淭heir Past, Your Future鈥 project funded by the Big Lottery and are taking students to Duxford and Normandy as part of this project, and are making audio and video recordings of our activities. The project will end in November with a whole school day of activities linked to the theme of 鈥淲ar and Peace鈥. We also hope to invite those people who help with the project to come into school in November to see the results of all the different activities.
