Bromsgrove Museum is currently working on a project to record and display the experiences of local people during World War II.
Over the past few months we have been working closely with local people in the community, asking them to write down their wartime memories. Some of these will be posted on the People's War website, so look out for new contributions to this page.
The aim of the project is twofold. Firstly we hope to accumulate a record of Bromsgrove's history in a period for which there has been little previous research. Secondly it is an opportunity for us to work with the people we serve, for them to be part of the museum and to make more of a contribution to the Bromsgrove community at large.
Funding from the 大象传媒 People's War Fund has enabled us to buy equipment to record memories. These oral histories, along with the written ones, will be put towards a small exhibition later in the year, which we hope will be viewed at several venues in the Bromsgrove area. The material we collect will also contribute towards a source pack for schools.
Anyone who wishes to find out more about the project is welcome to contact me.
