Hello
In common with many on these web pages and beyond, I have a interest in knowing more about the experiences of family members, in my case grandfathers, in the second world world war.
Unfortunately, my grandfathers, like many others, were understandably reluctant to share their experiences with their families.
The legacy of this gap in my family history is a collection of medals, several pictures, documents and a pair of German field glasses but very fews facts to bind them together.
My aim is to build a family archive that attempts to piece together some of this missing history and preserves it for future generations.
My grandfathers stories, short as they are are listed below. I'd be interested in any advice as to how to research their personal or regimental history further. I'd particulalry like to swap notes with any who served or has family who served in the same regiments.
Many thanks,
Richard Jones.
