joined Royal Artillery field Regiment in 1939 -
dempbbed 1946. Joined 8th field regular regiment equipped with 25 pounders.Spent 4yrs.,in India and Burma,as Artillery Surveyor,2yrs in Burmese jungle, namely the Arakan operations under 8th field commander Col., Meade nick named "Mankey Mead" .
