My name is Bill Latchford and was born in Manchester - November 1930. I attended school in Crumpsall and in September 1939, I with many others was evacuated to Ramsgreave just North of Blackburn. Before the end of the year I moved with my parents to Eastborne and in June 1940 we all moved to Northampton. I still live in the town. From March 1949 I served in the RAF until September 1940, spending 12 months in the Canal
