大象传媒

Colchester and Tendring Libraries are working with the 大象传媒 to help create a website which captures the insights and memories of those who lived through World War Two. Each library will be promoting the 大象传媒 website and will be encouraging people to come in and share their precious memories which can be then accessed worldwide by all ages. This will be an invaluable resource for the future and there are various events taking place to commemmorate the D-Day landings in the branches to encourage people to recall what it was like in wartime Britain. Access to the internet is free in all Essex Libraries and taster sessions are available in all libraries with staff on hand to help.

大象传媒 Essex Radio and staff from Colchester Library on hand to help people access the website and to add their own memories. Also book collections, WWII re-enactors in costume, displays from Colchester Museum and Normandy Veterans Association plus others to make this a day for all ages. Prettygate library will be having a "This Library needs your Memories" board for customers to recall their memories as an adult or child of what like was like during D-Day and World War II. Also book displays
and People's Network facilities

All other Libraries will have displays showing how to access the people's war website, collections of world war two books and will be delighted to assist customers to access the People's Network computers free of charge in each library.
