My history..my reason for interest.
My father was born in Glasgow, Scotland and my mother was born in Barking, England (london). My father served in WW2 ..first in the Merchant Navy age 14-16..at 16 he served with the Royal Navy AND he was a boxer. My mother was a child and one of the children evacuated away from her family during the war. My whole life I have lived with stories of the war..my parents immigrated to Canada after the war. My mother was a Fry my father a Gilliland.
Stories and details about this war have been a part of my life my whole life. As a child of survivors of a war I have also experienced repercussions...eg..to this day my mother stockpiles. I can remember asking my mother why my dad awoke screaming so many nights...
