Hello, I am an octogenarian retired Chartered Engineer with a wide range of interests. It took a war to stop me entering the armed services. I was due to be called into the militia in November 1939 and thsi would have been regardless of my job. However, when the war came, I was employed as a press toolmaker, a reserved occupation. So I missed the forces but, living in Birmingham I saw plenty of action and will have a few stories to tell about life in the Midlands with the Luftwaffer as frequent visitors. i will also be interested in other's stories.
