Solihull Heritage & Local Studies Service is based at Solihull Central Library, Homer Road, Solihull, West Midlands B91 3RG.
We aim to collect and make available for research material relating to the history of places within the present Solihull Metropolitan Borough area, including Balsall Common, Berkswell, Chelmsley Wood, Dorridge, Hampton-in-Arden, Knowle, Meriden and Shirley.
We have photographs, newspapers, local history books and reminiscences all relating to World War 2 in the local area. In 1995, Solihull Council published a book of wartime memories of local residents. Now out of print, it can be accessed electronically via Solihull Heritage & Local Studies Service's web pages at www.solihull.gov.uk/libraries
We are actively collecting people's memories about wartime Solihull (and other topics). Please complete a memory sheet from our website.
If you have any questions about the history of Solihull or have any local photographs or other items you would allow us to copy to add to our collection, please contact Solihull Heritage & Local Studies Service at infols@solihull.gov.uk
