I would like to hear from anyone that flew in these squadrons from 1942 - 1946 with my Grandfather.
Jack Powley was a wireless operator during WWII, flying in Halifax, Wellington (on this op) and Lancasters. He joined the Path Finder Force (635 and 156 Sqd PFF) in 1944. He also served as a W/T Instructor.
Having completed 40 successful ops and numerous DNCO (due to u/s equipment) he stayed in the RAF until about 1947 as an instructor, reaching Warrant Officer rank.
He died two years ago just after his 85 birthday.
