I was born in Bristol in 1927 and lived until 1941 at Bedminster Down. After that I spent two years in Cornwall. Iwas the youngest in a family of five, two sisters and two brothers. I was the tomboy and preferred playing football with the boys rather than playing with dolls. After coming back to Bristol I worked in the Civil Service and then had the chance to go to Cheltenham on a Teacher Training Course. I married Les in 1950. I had met him as a result of our mutual involvement with the Scout Movement Since retiring we have taken up bowls As a result of that we have toured Australia,New Zealand and SouthAfrica playing the game we enjoy. We have five delightful grandchildren so consider ourselves extremely lucky.
