Over the last ten years I have been researching details of my home town in the North East of England and of how the people of that town coped with the daily problems that the war years placed upon them. I have now just published a book from this research and from time to time I intend to add some extracts, some humorous some sad, to the 'WW2 People's War' pages.
I hope to show the determination and courage of the people of one small town throughout six years of total war. The light of the spirit of the people of that town may well have been dimmed from time to time but never extinguished.
I had just had my sixth birthday when WW2 started, a very impressionable age so details of my own experiences stand crystal clear in my mind. For those of us who are interested in the period I can see that the 大象传媒 'WW2 People's War' will become a very important research tool, particularly if we can ensure that future generations inherit a world at peace.
