I am in the process of researching Wartime air crashes in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and I am hoping that through these pages someone out there may be able to assist me.
I am seeking eyewitnesses to the following incidents: An RAF Mosquito crash in the Basford area, 13th July 1943; RAF Wellington crash in the Wilford area, possibly around 1941; an RAF training plane crash, possibly an Oxford, Beeston Rylands, 1945; and in particular, the shooting-down of a German reconnaissance aircraft by the Anti-Aircraft guns on Victoria (Bendigo) Park. The only information I have on this one is that it happened one Sunday lunchtime, and it is assumed the aircraft was lost.
Also, I would like to hear from you if you attended any crashes, particularly if you were an ARP Warden, Police Officer or Fire Officer.
I can be contacted through these pages, or via my personal e-mail: Don2912@ntlworld.com
Many Thanks in advance.
