I have spent the last 9 months or so searching for my fathers Canadian family. You can read about this in my stories I've got a million things to tell you and The Living Years.
I would be very interested to know whether anyone remembers or has heard stories about the Canadians over here during the war. It is well publicised that there were lots of Americans here but until I started searching for my fathers father I had no idea that there were that many Canadians. Of course the Canadians were over here right at the start of the war. My grandfather came here on the Empress of Britain in December 1939.
If anyone has any other information regarding Canadians based in Bromley/Beckenham in Kent then I would be interested to hear from them.
Thank you
Alison Slater
