My name is Ben Savage, i am 12 years old i come from west sussex, i first got into learning about World War 2 when i was in year 6, we visited a place down on the coast called New Haven fort, it is absouloutley brilliant there, it had a real Air raid shelter and wax work dummies and amazing air raid siren sounds and bomb sounds, as i stepped into this room and on the left of me was a real Anderson shelter with this waxwork dummie of an old woman in her bed asleep in an air raid, i walked along and on the left of me again was another waxwork dummie of this woman and her house had been hit by a bomb and she has been crushed by bricks and rubble as her house was hit and the air raid wardens were rescuing her, and pulling her out to safety, the look on her face gave me the creeps, she looks like shes in pain and agony, her teeth were showing like she was saying the word cheese. It was a really good day out and i really enjoyed it. And thats when i got into learning about it.
