The Adventures of the British Soldier

Discover the lives, legends and legacies of the men and women who have served in the British Army. Find out about the most remarkable episodes in Britain鹿s history and see some of Britain鹿s finest military treasures and works of martial art. We鹿ll show you just how soldiers have lived and fought from the Battle of Agincourt right up to the modern day.

Visit our National Service exhibition and learn drill or prepare for inspection in the barrack room. Explore a dank and dirty First World War trench, compete against your friends in a giant snakes and ladders style floorgame, and find Everest conqueror Major Bronco Lane's grisly frostbitten fingers! You can find out how much you weigh in cannonballs, try on uniforms and helmets, have a go at our computer combat challenge and look for the ghostly skeleton of Napoleon's horse. At the National Army Museum the adventures of the British soldier are brought vividly to life!
