My name is Kenneth Edward White and I live in Farnborough Hampshire. I was born in London on May 17th 1922.
The last years of my education were at a Grammar School in Colchester.
In 1939 I left school and when war broke out I signed on for the ARP later the MN and in July 1940 the RAF. I was demobbed in July 1946.
In 1948 I finished my teacher training and began 42 years devoted to teaching both in England and Canada. I finally retired from the profession when I was 70 in 1992.
Since then my wife, also a retired teacher, and I have travelled the world to places such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and many more.
With family in Canada my wife has made 11 visits and myself nine.
I am not as mobile as I was but I hope to do a few more breaks before having to give in.
A few weeks ago I was part of the programme "Where was I?" VE Day programme set up by 大象传媒 South Today and my contribution, along with seven others, was broadcast late April early May. I was stationed at RAF Habbaniya in Iraq but on the VE Day I was at Majarah a few miles from Fallujah.
