Nude portrait (Dutch/French)

Me and my girlfriends were visiting Paris. While having a refreshment somewhere in Quartier Latin, a street artist walked towards us and asked me (in French of course) if one of us was interested in having her portrait painted by him. I translated his question to my friends, for both of them didn't speak nor understand French at all. One of them asked me in Dutch: Portret? Nu? The obviously embarrassed artist didn't wait for my translation but replied immediately: Non non, pas nu, pas nu! It took a while before I could stop laughing. Only then I was able to explain to both my girlfriends and the artist that nu means 'now' in Dutch, not 'naked' as in French.

That is pretty funny! I hope to make the same mistake one day! If I do, it will be because I travelled to Paris! My dream!

My 8 wonderful and gorgeous students and I were having our first meal in Paris when one of them dropped her spoon. Having practiced 'dining vocabulary' she was very proud to say 'M. est-ce que tu peux me donner un cul hier ?' The waiter, being a bit of a drama queen, threw his arms up and addressed the whole restaurant saying' 'Ce n'était pas moi !' He then produced 'une cuillère'.
