Surf the net

I think a good idea when learning a new language is to surf the Internet to practise that new language. I also consider it important to make friends in the language being learnt through chatrooms.

I do the same, for me the nightmare are the shortcuts (why is my document not saved after some times Ctr-S on Spanish applications, but random text underlined?)
It helps, if you know the applications or their domains, so you don't have to know what every word means (e.g. after a 'user'- field normally is a 'password'-field) and you will grasp the words from context. But pay attention: the words used for interfaces are used outside computing quite different sometimes!

When learning a new language I change all possible computer applications into that language. A nightmare at the beginning (how do you say "Print" in Finnish??) it forces you to begin understanding quite quickly.
