Great view

When I first came to Germany to work I befriended the office secretary - a lady some twenty years older than myself. She invited me to Sunday lunch with her family. When I arrived I was shown around the flat. The highlight of the flat was a really spacious balcony where the table had been laid for lunch. I commented to my hostess that she had a large balcony: Du hast einen großen Balkon. Everyone started giggling and I was left wondering what had been so amusing. It turned out that, as well as having the obvious meaning, the word Balkon is a colloquial expression for 'big breasts'. And since she really was quite well upholstered they all rather enjoyed the double entendre!
