Tasty

At the end of my two-year stay in Germany I was asked by some friends what dish my mom had made that I really enjoyed and looked forward to eating when I got home. Naturally it had to be a dish that I had requested a couple of times for birthday dinners growing up - broccoli casserole. Although that's not what I told my friends. I soon learned that a slight difference in the beginning of the word for casserole made a huge difference in connotation. German crash course for broccoli casserole lovers: Brokkoli Auflauf: broccoli casserole. Brokkoli Einlauf: broccoli enema.
