Blackwell House from the lower terrace

Designed and constructed by architect M. H. Baillie Scott, Blackwell House on the banks of Lake Windermere, is a showcase of the Arts and Crafts architectural style. This decorative arts movement provided an escape from the austerity of industrial Britain in the late 19th Century.
