Pryce-Jones: Pioneer of the Mail Order Industry |
|
© Reality Group plc |
The impact that Pryce-Jones had on a local, national and international level cannot be underestimated. He revived the local woollen industry, created jobs, organised local events for his workers, and, of course, founded the mail-order industry. According to a report commissioned by the Direct Marketing Association, 1.3 billion mail order items were delivered in 2002 and the industry was valued at £8.25 billion in the UK alone.
His revolutionary idea of making his wares accessible to anyone and everyone, no matter where in the world they’re located, has caught on and been exploited world-wide. Today, however, our choice is not limited to Welsh Flannel
