A homelessness charity in Wiltshire has issued the following advice to people who find homeless individuals on the streets in today's bitter conditions.

Alabare is a charity that "supports vulnerable, homeless and marginalised people".

Issuing advice, as the Office of National Statistics warned that deaths amongst the homeless rise during the cold, the charity said:

If you see someone you think may be sleeping rough, here's how you can help:

    1. If you are in England or Wales, contact . This service helps to connect rough sleepers with local services, or if you are in Wiltshire please contact - roughsleeperteam@wiltshire.gov.uk
    2. Alabaré’s winter emergency accommodation is available to rough sleepers in Wiltshire between November and March. Beds are available in Salisbury, Trowbridge and Chippenham and can be accessed via Wiltshire Council.
    3. One of the most important things you can do is simply stop and talk to someone. Rough sleeping is a lonely and scary experience – a friendly face can make a massive difference.
    4. Rough sleepers can get free, hot food, clothes and advice at Alabaré’s Drop in centre, in Salisbury.

  19. In pictures: Snow in Bathpublished at 11:50 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2019

We're getting pictures from around the region of the west in the snow.

Arguably the most iconic spot in is Bath.

The Georgian city is looking beautiful contrasted with the white stuff today - as work goes on to keep the streets clear for tourists and workers.

But a number of the steep hill roads around the city are closed today - Rush Hill and Freezing Hill, whilst Lansdown Hill "remains passable with care".

Both Bath University and Bath Spa University, along with Bath College closed their doors today.
