A masterplan to develop thousands of homes and office space on a large area of land behind York railway station has been approved.

It includes proposals for 2,500 homes, 2000 parking spaces, 120,000 sq m of new office space and about 17 acres of parkland and public space.

The plan also includes a £15m project to redevelop the entrance to York railway station.

A trust first formed in Victorian times to take responsibility for an iconic Bingley building has agreed to sell it to a developer, according to the .

The Priestthorpe Annex was built in the 1880s as a training college for the town.

It is the responsibility of the trustees of the former Bingley Technical School, with Bradford Council being the main trustee.

In recent years, the building has fallen into disrepair, and councillors representing the trust have today agreed to its sale.

The pink salmon originates from the northern Pacific Ocean, but now there's now a warning about the dangers of the species to native fish.

The bird is one of four chicks living at the cathedral.

They're the second set to be born at the Minster to a pair of peregrines who took up residence a few years ago.

The four young birds were ringed earlier this month so they can be traced when they eventually leave the nest.
