The planned layout for the homes

A proposal for up to 20 new homes in Plumpton has been given the go ahead.

Lewes District Council’s planning committee approved an outline application to build up to 20 homes on a greenfield site off Riddens Lane in Plumpton.

Objections that the decision conflicts with the village’s neighbourhood plan, which had only allocated 16 homes for the site, were overruled.

Councillor Tom Jones asked for reassurance from officers about access roads, as Riddens Lane was currently "inadequate and unsafe".

East Sussex Highways agreed road improvements must be carried out by the developer.
