    We're at stage seven of the count in East Londonderry and we're still waiting for a candidate to be elected.

    If you're one for predictions, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Foyle's Gerry Bradley has been looking into his crystal ball. 

    He says it's looking likely that Sinn Féin's Caoimhe Archibald will be elected, along with her running mate Cathal Ó hOisín, without reaching the quota. George Robinson and Maurice Bradley of the DUP are also looking good, which leaves the remaining seat going to former justice minister Claire Sugden.

    Alliance leader Naomi Long says its her party has grown in the west of Northern Ireland creating the possibility they might be able to get councillors elected in the future. She topped the poll in her own East Belfast constituency.

    It's a downcast mood at the Park Avenue Hotel in Belfast, where . He was surrounded by his wife, Lynda, and son, PJ, and a few UUP colleagues.

    People are still digesting the news. Although it was no great surprise, it did come very quickly and while the count is ongoing.

    The day began rather upbeat for the UUP and it has ended in crushing disappointment.
