The Cat's Prayer
Oh Lord, you've made me nice and fat
A ginger, stripey, well fed cat.
You've given me a good warm house,
A scratching post, a squeaky mouse.
There's food and water in my dish -
Sometimes chicken, sometimes fish.
But Lord I have a dreadful owner
I need you please to pick a bone wi'her (!?!)
I hear her muttering, "That cat!"
And giving off about this and that
Like cast-off fur on all her clothes
And ginger hairs each place she goes
And plucked settees and chewed up plants
How dare she go off on these rants?
Her arrogance - it makes me laugh.
Lord please remind her - she's just staff.
