Annette Carter
My name is Annette Carter. A slightly eccentric Queens student with a love of books and an uncertainty about my own work. This is a little introduction but I hope to get more confident in writing and become more free, just like all the things there are to be adored in life.

Crude Carving by Annette

Betrayed, yes.
I cannot help
but think what
Now seems smug hugs,
Tight lipped kisses
and ears asunder.
The memories were once
Learning curves. Now ceased
Into pitch hole reworkings.
The times you loved
seem
To have twisted
into a myriad
Of thorns.
Upon this unearthed Information.
I鈥檝e now drunk from the cup of
Betrayal and how bitter I am.
Its crimson juice still fresh on
My now forgotten lips.
the anger lies deep.
marrs the future with knowledge.
Ha! You are now the apple
And I, eve.
But the most poignant
Poison of all is knowing,
The protests of many
Females. men are cheats.
Men lie. can鈥檛 be trusted.
And I willed to see you
Otherwise. How wrong I was.
The apple never falls far as they say.
