Liz McClure
Liz McClure

In between living the life of a researcher and living in the sticks (Ballymoney!), I have spent many chunks of my 29 years writing songs and poetry about life, love and happiness in the hope that one day I'll work it all out! My father's poetry has inspired me all through my life and should I ever have the same effect on even one person, life would be a little lovelier.

You by Liz McClure

It could’ve been anyone
But it wasn’t
It was you
in those clothes
in my space
playing your music
beating in my heart.
I was happy just to lie there
and watch you.
Take you with me to that place
inside my head
And I dream with all my sleep that you are with me
when I lift my head
but you’re gone.
You’re somewhere else instead.
Sleeping in someone else’s head….
