He also hopes to do some Drum and Bass MCing at The Garvey (The Ballroom) later in the year.
Apart from Reggae, Drum And Bass, House, Garage, and British Hip Hop, Colonel is also the vocalist for a Bangra DJ who, together, perform at private functions and events.
Colonel D has a healthy fitness regime. Twice weekly he trains children and young adults in the art of boxing. He also runs a lot; "I find it clears my mind out and helps me to focus on a tune that I may be working on."
He told us about his musical influence; "Bob Marley, gives me a lot of inspiration, because he talks a lot of truth. Something that can really hit people, to make them realise what is happening, and make a point. That鈥檚 what Bob does. He talks about proper issues and not just feeble everyday things. That鈥檚 what I try to do in my music."
Colonel thinks there is a stigma attached to coming from The Meadows. He believes that he doesn鈥檛 get hired a lot because people think; "If you hire me, the Meadows lot are going to come down and smash everything."
Despite this he says that living in the Meadows has had a positive effect on him, especially through the people he has met there. He is currently collaborating with a female singer who resides in the area.
