Jemima Rooper as Fi

Sinchronicity

Jemima Rooper plays Fi

Fi may be Jase's girlfriend, but she's also the love of Nathan's life. As much as he's tried to hide it, Nathan's fancied the a**e off her since she and Jase first met (and Nathan made a massive mistake by telling Jase to go and chat her up instead of going for her himself).

Ìý

Fi's a down-to-earth chef, who loves creating in the kitchen, but she's also got a wild party side – and that's the side that Nathan and his silly, crazy life appeals to.

Ìý

Fi says: "Sinchronicity really appealed to me because of the way it was written. I love Nathan's (Paul Chequer) narration – it leaves the audience gripped, not knowing what to expect the whole time.

Ìý

"I also felt that the characters were extremely complex but loveable at the same time. Like all of the other Shine productions I have worked on I knew it would be beautifully shot and wouldn't let the script down.

Ìý

"Fi, my character, is in her mid twenties, and feeling like she has hit a bit of a rut in her life, she is a bit discontented about how everything is shaping up.

Ìý

"She's been in a relationship for about four years with Jase (Daniel Percival). Though in a very loving and very comfortable relationship, she feels that it is maybe a little too comfortable and she has itchy feet.

Ìý

"Fi has always got on with Jase's best mate Nathan and sees that he represents everything that Jase is not, he's impulsive and kind of all over the place, unlike good old reliable Jase.

Ìý

"Throughout the series we see the relationship between Fi and Jase continue down a rocky path. She loves Jase but things become harder and harder. It's a situation that is so common with long term relationships; hopefully people will find it easy to relate to Fi.

Ìý

"Sinchronicity appealed to me because it is the first drama series where I have played an older woman, not a teenager or girl. I'm also heterosexual in this one and a female lead - not the comedic side-kick, this also made a refreshing change."

Ìý

Jemima Rooper has built up an extensive list of film and television credits since she began acting at the age of eight. Her first most notable performance was as George in the 1997 ITV series of The Famous Five.

Ìý

Following that she played Roberta in the 2000 Carlton series The Railway Children.

Ìý

She most recently filmed Black Dahlia alongside Scarlet Johannsson and Josh Hartnett and Brit-flick Kinky Boots Factory alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Ìý

Other film credits include Snapshots with Burt Reynolds and Julie Christie; Owd Bob, starring James Cromwell; Willy's War and A Sound of Thunder.

Ìý

For television Jemima has recently worked on the Channel 4 series Sugar Rush, and starred in all four series of the hit teen drama As If. She has also played the lead in two award-winning series of Sky One's Hex.

Ìý

For the ´óÏó´«Ã½ she has worked on Silent Witness, Love in A Cold Climate, Wives and Daughters and The Passion.

Ìý

Her theatre credits include Us and Them at the Hampstead Theatre and Where Do We Live? at the Royal Court.
